Manchester City moved one step closer to the Carling Cup final after a performance inspired by ex-Manchester United forward Carlos Tevez, who scored two goals and received the man of the match award.

Are Manchester City improving or not? That’s the question I think many football fans are trying to find out, as their recent form suggests they seem like a yo-yo team. They’ve won a lot of games, and haven’t lost many: but the problem is they’re falling down to sides much worse off than them. For example, home draws against Burnley, Fulham and Hull City are not the best way to be setting yourself up as a top four team, particularly with the likes of Given, Barry, Bellamy, Tevez and Adebayor in your ranks.
