Manchester United came from two goals down with a stunning second-half performance to beat rivals Manchester City in a thrilling encounter at Wembley.

Destiny defined this engrossing contest on Sunday afternoon at Wembley, displaying Manchester’s two halves in a glorious tussle of present versus future. With a trophy at stake, two completely different mental views would be expressed from two aspiring Manchester clubs situated each side of the most potent footballing city in Britain. For United, this was merely another small piece of pre-season silverware to add to Ferguson’s 36-trophy haul attained in his Mancunian managerial reign. For City, however, a win at Wembley would prove to be a huge advance – a stepping stone for success in the coming years.
